A cloudy morning in Jasper, eh?
After yet another early start, the students were eager to begin their fourth day of skiing. Everyone was sure to wrap up in an extra layer and grab their hand warmers in order to keep warm in today's cloudy weather.
Having arrived, we all promptly gathered our equipment and met up with our instructors. Thanks to our early session slot, the groups were able to experience the freshly groomed snow before the general public arrived.
Ryan's group tackled some new runs, such as Dromedary, and got to see some of the lesser-seen sides of the mountain through a morning of tree skiing. They also had time to stop for a coffee and chit-chat at the Mid-Chalet.

During lunchtime, everyone queued up to get their chicken and chips, while the second group of skiers were treated to an informational safety talk on avalanches at the learning centre.
Temperatures began to rise and the afternoon flew by - much like some of the students! - and before we knew it we were piling back onto the coach and heading back to Chateau Jasper.

Evening Activity
As soon as we arrived back at the hotel, we rushed up to our rooms to get changed and headed out to explore the local town. Many students were especially excited to visit the traditionally Canadian shops, such as Tim Hortons, Candy Bears' Lair and of course … SUBWAY!
Drinks at Tim Hortons!
Enjoying a caramel nut apple at Candy Bears' Lair!
Of course, it wasn't just the promise of sweet treats and Canadian merchandise that drew us out of our cosy hotel rooms. The opportunity to see the natural and cultural features of the town was also a fun experience for the students - many of whom were particularly fascinated by the bear proof bins! (don't panic … we've been assured that the bears are hibernating!)

The pole represents a traditional Haida tribal story
After our town adventures, we all sat down together for a delicious dinner of burgers and chips. Hats were then awarded to the following:
Splat: Joe Hyett
Dude: Miss Beech and Mrs Mehta
Jinx: Mujtaba Qadri
Once dinner and hats were over, we went up to bed to recharge for the next day!
