And so begins day 4 of our fantastic ski time. We have the routine down now; breakfast at 7:45am, meet in the foyer at 8:40am, load the bus and off we go. The breakfast has lots of choice from cereals, toast, cooked breakfast, fruits, meats and cheese and so the students have had plenty to choose from.
Before hitting the slopes we switched into our ski boots in record time and then we were up on the gondola.
They have had a fun penultimate day as group 5 headed back up to Pic del Cubil and skied most of the resort. A mixture of runs from open and glorious blues to steeper and tighter red routes this morning whilst this afternoon the whole group faced their fears and successfully completed La Comellada the one and only black of the resort. Well done to all of them because when you stand at the top of this slope, unable to see what is ahead, it can be very daunting but they did a superb job.
Our Splat hatter and some of her group on the four chair
Group 4 warmed up as they went down to La Serra II chair lift, they moved off the blue runs and onto red routes this morning as they completed La Serra, the red route that runs from Pic del Cubil all the way onto El Planell, they were buzzing when they had completed this. In the afternoon they hit more red routes and had some fun creating a human slalom weaving in between one another to practice their tight turns. Danny has been so good in her coaching skills, taking time to stretch some of our students and encourage others to build their confidence. They have all done so well today!
Group 4 doing the moose
Group 3 warmed up their turns this morning while skiing down El Besurt II a few times ready to venture to the top of the mountain this afternoon. Group 3 were very excited to get to the top of the mountain and took lots of photos of the beautiful views. They raced down La Tossa and then conquered the button lift, with only one person falling off. They then had lots of fun racing each other along the the start of Cami Inferior to the black slope where their instructor, Mark, joked that we would be adventuring down there.... none of them fancied doing the very, very steep black slope! They then continued to ski down Cami Inferior, racing each other along the flatter sections of the slope and practising their parallel turns on the steeper sections. Group 3 have all really improved and can not wait to see what slopes they will be mastering tomorrow!

Group 2 have made exceptional progress practising their turns and parallel skiing. They have been up the chair lift and skied down the beautiful La Serra blue run. This afternoon there was even more fun to be had on a couple of the blue runs. All of the students were down the mountain full of smiles and stories of the day.
Group 1 have had a superb day as they have built from snow plough into parallel skiing. They have spent the day being taught how to make the move from the 'pizza' snow plough position to the 'french fries' parallel. They have then explored the north westerly side of the mountain with El Planell and La Serra completed throughout the day.
Tik Tok fun for Molly and Chloe although it took a couple of attempts to perfect this. Absolutely brilliant:
Attempt number one wasn't quite as smooth:
Pics of the group relaxing at lunch:
Our teachers took the opportunity this morning to enjoy the beautiful conditions on the top of the mountain. Mrs Stafford is showing off the 'Dude' helmet alongside the stunning views. Check out this amazing vista!
This evening has been a relatively relaxed affair with half the group going for a swim whilst the other half settled in for a film night. The awards and prizes will be taking place after dinner and then it is time to pack up and get ready for our final FANCY DRESS SKI DAY!!
And here is Vienna summing up the impact of all the hard work the Snow Patrol have been doing here:

Hey QM Ski Patrol! Great pictures and footage! The conditions look fabulous (if a little warm, that said, it is April!). Looks like everyone is having a brilliant time and well done on all the progress and achievements. Looking forward to the Fancy Dress Day pics. Enjoy and ski safe, Mrs. H :-)
