Day 3 - Pure bluebird

We awoke to a beautiful day. Horizons just filled with blue skies. A very fresh minus 11 Celsius this morning.

After another wholesome breakfast with the addition of Waffles this morning groups headed out at 0 9.45.

Group 4

Worked on skills with DeWitt including turning on one ski and leg raises. This took them all over the mountain before finishing with some fun park activities. Lots of air time taken by some of the group.

More work on Stemtation and Leroy's run on lower Meadows.

Amaana and Mahek progressed nicely too and are linking their turns. Well done, keep going.

Town souvenir shopping

After our meal at the conference centre we headed to the Town Square bowling alley and arcade with differences. Duck Bowling! 10 pins with a ball the size of a shot put.

Great fun. Competitive spirits were out. Eleanor held her breath as the teachers finished their game. Yes, Mrs Connell scored top with 53. Eleanor came in a close second. The claw provided some entertainment too. Lots of rubber ducks were collected. 🤔

Oh Varni...

Day 2 - The big freeze

After lots of rain during the night we awoke to a cool frozen landscape with a few snow flurries. Students were very efficient and we left the Black Bear Lodge at 8.30 for our breakfast at base lodge. Everyone welcomed the fruit 🍓 🍑 and selection of breads and cream cheese. The American pancakes and maple syrup was nice too.

Lessons commenced at 9.30. The groomed snow was still hard today. As the sun broke out the conditions became nice in many spots across the mountain. All of the groups progressed well supported by the extra instructors that Waterville Valley provided for us.

The views were spectacular today. Lots of pictures and videos below. We will place some on our Instagram account to.

After a cold hour of shopping at Town Square we headed for our evening meal at the conference centre. It was a pizza 🍕 themed meal. There were many nominations for splat tonight. 😬.

Day 1 Waterville Valley - Let's go ski

Students were all up and ready for 7.20am. Snow Patrollers were hungry and excited.

Ski fit went super smooth. All done in an hour. Breakfast was a mix of hot and cold. Great crispy bacon, turkey sausages, potatoes, yoghurt, juice and other hot drinks.

Students met up with their instructors and have started lessons.

Everyone had 20$ to spend for lunch due to our late arrival  After filling up and lots of hydration the Snow Patrol ventured out once more. Waterville Valley put on 4 extra instructors to push the students and support their learning. It was amazing to see everyone in groups one and two ride their first chair. Truly awesome.

Groups 3 and 4 explored the mountain and got their ski legs back on. Several hit the terrain park jumps too. Time to recover after the fun of today and the journey we undertook yesterday.

Today's photos and videos to follow:

Snow Fun, let's snowball Mrs. Connell

Our evening meal gathering was great. A nice range of foods and some more calorific deserts. The best of all was the table conversations and sounds of laughter.

We had our ski nominations for Dudes Splats hat
