The return journey

We are currently winding our way down the mountain whilst having our packed lunches. We left on time at 7.00pm local time.

A few staff snacks!

Progressing well through Switzerland. Sleep time now.

Good morning everyone, we are doing very well. Most of us are still asleep as we make our way through France.

Most of us are awake now Mrs. Rochfort

We are just under a hour from Calais now.

We are hoping for breakfast on the ferry Mrs. Rochfort!

We are at Calais and are going through passport control.

We're hoping for an early ferry... the most up to date information is that we are on the 11.35 but we may have a chance of the 09.50. Let's hope we get that one.
Unfortunately the 09.50 did not happen, we may get the 10.45. Unfortunately due to a mix up by the coach handlers we are getting the 11.35. It will be brunch on the Pride of Canterbury.

Dover Ahoy!

We are in Dover, just switching drivers. We will give an accurate eta once we have made our motorway stop. We would like all parents to be waiting for our arrival. Please keep the access to Upper Forster Street clear. We will drive into the yard for gate 1.

Please check the blog and twitter feeds for regular updates.

We have been slowed down by an accident ahead of us. This means we will have to stop for 45 mins due to drivers hours regulations.

So the eta is now around 5.30pm. We will review this after our stop.

We have stopped at Watford Gap services we are about 1 hour from school. After this 45 minute stop we will confirm our ETA.

We have been on the road for a while now. We will be avoiding the Birmingham traffic by using the toll road. We will be at:

QMGS 17.50
QMHS 18.15

Please do not park in the entrance to Upper Forster Street and keep the bus stop clear on Sutton Road near QMGS entrance.

Thanks to all staff, pupils and parents for making this years trip a success. All times worked a treat and we left school efficiently due to all families being on time. Really appreciated.

Day 6 - Fancy Dress

Our final day in Aprica. All the students have had their breakfast and are now busy getting ready to get their fancy dress costume ready to ski in. We have had a fabulous holiday. Lets have a fabulous last day on the snow...

Bags are currently being loaded on the coach and room switching has commenced ready for showering after our days skiing. Whilst walking back to my room I came across some students that were, "too hot to handle" they exclaimed...

We are almost ready for our last days skiing. We shall have a hot lunch as usual and ski this afternoon. We have ski return, lift pass return and showers to sort all before 7.00pm local time. We are taking a packed lunch onto the coach to help speed up the process.

The trip has been a huge success and this was down to an effective team who have given generously of their time to make this trip so great. A big thank you goes to our 2 amazing Equity reps, Anne and Denise.

Fancy Dress

This year the QM SnowPatrol have raised the bar again with some excellent costumes showing lots of thought and creativity. This is the 17th year of this tradition and as a result we have many winners. All were amazing but the 21 'winner' costumes really stood out on the slopes.

QM Snow Patrol 2018

Well that was a fabulous ski trip, everyone has made their mark on the mountain and no matter how you got around it, it was your tracks. People have learnt new things and have made new friends. I am Mr Hinks and I hope to see you here next year; same time, same place.
